Active participation coupled with question and answer periods provide a supportive learning environment for maximum retention of the material. The course is also well suited for law enforcement armorers to design their agency's own maintenance and inspection program.

This academy is an accelerated firearms training program, and it is incumbent on each student to make sure that the assigned readings are completed before arriving at the academy.  The students will also be responsible for keeping up with the fast-paced learning environment which may include late night study sessions and/or research.

The course focuses on firearms mechanics, ballistic trajectories, how bullets interact with various surfaces, and practical recognition, documentation, processing and analysis of shooting scene evidence. Students will review real-world cases, investigate mock scenes, and gain experience with empirical testing and experimentation.
